Kähler past and future

Kähler dates back to 1839, where the adventure begins, and which continues today all over the world. The starting point was Herman J. Kähler, a Holstein potter, who opened a small pottery workshop in Næstved/Denmark. This was further developed by his son, Herman A. Kähler, since in 1875 by weighting the aesthetic aspect high.

The ambition has always been to bring art to the people and 100 years ago was the artistic expression shaped by big names like Thorvald and Svend Hammershøj. Kähler continues its tradition of collaboration with the great artists, designers and ceramic artists such as Louise Campbell, Cecilie Manz, Jeanette List Amstrup and Jelena Schou Nordentoft.

Today will follow ceramics traditions and interpreting them in a contemporary perspective. In this way, pull the thread through the history of art back to Kähler startup. The fact that we work with people with such different backgrounds means that our art ceramics have very different expressions because they each with their own background, their own approach to the design of an object - the starting point may be the pure form, function and material options.
