Sweet Swedish...Norrgavel

It's so easy to understand why this works...
it just make sense, doesn't it?

For more info check website http://norrgavel.se/

Norrgavel started in 1991 by Nirvan Richter, arcitect from KTH and trained in carpentry at the Carl Malmsten School.

His interest in furniture and furniture makers were woken early and newly graduated architect in the 80's he soon realized that he wanted to learn more about the furniture, woodworking craft and art of creating good home environments. He perceived the then Swedish architectural world as tightly controlled by modernism and perceived interior architecture as something of a free zone.

Norrgavel furniture would not necessarily attract attention with spectacular design, but rather act as long-term retainers. Rather a subtle design that was first observed when using the furniture, but then noticed the more. A chair that really gave support to the body, a handle with their design helped fingers and hand to pull out the drawer. The starting point for Norrgavel furniture were not dominate the surroundings without being a helpful and functional background to it.

Another important aspect of Norrgavel focus was caring for the environment. They decided early on to only work with natural materials and there were two reasons for that.
The first was purely organic. The goal was that the business would be included in the circuit using only renewable raw materials. The second was about experience and feeling. For Norrgavel were natural materials is also an aesthetic choice that stimulates the senses, it is possible to maintain and generally ages beautifully.

The Armchair...

"The Armchair I carried within me for more years and from Blueprint 1992, it took more than three years of production 1995. The vision held many paradoxes, an armchair that looks ascetically simple, a powerful belief that blend unobtrusively into the room - the size of a wing chair but transparent so that one can discern the walls and floors ...

The Pinn-table...

"Easy & convenient! And well made. The shape exudes "bench", but the disc's abrupt termination signals that it is a table. As any three-legged furniture, it steadily even on uneven floors and while it may tip over, so never stand on a three-legged stool. Using tables of different heights together give life and movement to the room. Combine with Stud Stool round to get an extra seat. And allow you to play with colors, tone on tone-colors of the frames gives a nuance that is modern, unlike vintage who want to be old. "

 The Chair BAS
"Chair BAS is a great chair. Well dimensioned and steady, but small, lightweight and very comfortable to sit on for long. The construction is firmly simple and the material of prime quality. "

In production since 2000.

The stool...
"A stool is a stool, or ...? The functionalist adage less is more suitable here - why twist to it, then the simplicity still survives everything. Stud Stool round is sustainable both in form and function. The worst that can happen is that it needs to be glued on after a generation or so. The four legs are drilled in the seat and stabilizes the bottom of the H-shaped strut. All machined parts have downloaded its proportions and dimensions of Norrgavel wooden chair, to fit with this. To avoid aches caused in the butt, is the seat bucket and a half centimeters. In projecting tempera colors, this little piece of furniture provide a pleasurable candy effect to the room. "
